On May 14, a ceremony was held at Kazan Expo as part of the 17th International Economic Forum “Russia — Islamic World: KazanForum 2026.”
Abbyas hazrat Shlyaposhnikov, Chairman of the Halal Standards Committee of the Muslim Spiritual Directorate of the Republic of Tatarstan, received a certificate confirming accreditation from Yousif Salem Alharbi, Vice President of the Saudi Halal Center of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. A memorandum of cooperation was then signed between the two leaders.
To gain recognition from Saudi Arabia, the Halal Standards Committee of the Muslim Spiritual Directorate of the Republic of Tatarstan completed a complex three-stage accreditation process. The first stage was accreditation from the GCC Accreditation Centre (GAC). The second stage was obtaining the SASO conformity assessment in February of this year. The third successful stage is the SFDA audit and accreditation of the Saudi Halal Center. More information about accreditation was available here.
